Our Story

The Marianne Volpe & Debbie-Ann Chang Charitable Fund was established in 2023 to honor the memories of two extraordinary women. All money donated to the fund is distributed to local charities that focus on helping children, providing services to people with developmental disabilities, supporting disadvantaged communities, and cancer research. The fund is held by The New York Community Trust and each organization we support is thoroughly vetted to ensure they meet best practice standards for charities.

We invite you to join us at special events throughout the year as we celebrate the lives of Marianne and Debbie-Ann and raise much needed funds for deserving organizations.

In the name of these two wonderful women, we hope to honor their love of life and continue their legacy through philanthropy to support the communities that were so important to them both.

About Marianne & Debbie-Ann

Marianne, affectionately known as Mary, radiated pure joy! She embraced each day with enthusiasm, making the most of every moment. Married to Jim for over thirty years, they shared a beautiful life with their two daughters, Shaun and Chelsea. She came from a large, loving family; she had five sisters and three brothers. Mary built a successful career at Media Information Services, where she served as CFO and President. Mary was a passionate advocate for children, especially those with differing abilities. Her infectious smile and unwavering positivity brightened every room she entered. If you were with Mary, you were probably laughing!

Debbie-Ann devoted her life to the service of others, embodying the true spirit of compassion and dedication. As a Social Worker and Program Director for EPIC Long Island, she made a profound impact on the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. She was an active member of her community and served as a board member and/or volunteer for several non-profits including the Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area, the Mental Health Association of Nassau County, the Long Island Women’s Agenda, the South Country Community Land Trust, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and the Greater Bellport Coalition. Her unwavering faith guided her belief in the potential of every individual and the importance of giving everyone the opportunity to live their best life. Debbie-Ann was loved and respected for her strength, kindness, honesty, and generosity, leaving a lasting legacy of humanity and grace.
